What Do You NEED?

You have to learn to put yourself first (at least some of the time).

We all have things we HAVE to do...

We have to go to work, take care of our kids, take care of our pets, buy groceries, put gas in the car, pay bills, do laundry, etc, etc, etc...

Everyone’s list is different, but most are long.

What too few of us do is STOP and consider...what do I NEED.

Again - everyone’s list will be different, and likely ever changing...but probably pretty short.

NEEDS are different than WANTS.

I was struck by this over the weekend when my husband and I met with Zoom Performance Personal Trainer Matt Zepeda to talk about a training schedule. When we left Michael said, “It’s expensive.” I said, “Yeah, but it’s an investment in the most important thing we have...our health.”

I’m willing to forgo new shoes, going through the drive through for coffee, high end clothing, a bigger house and lots of other things to afford this investment.

What you NEED may not be expensive. It may be time...to read a book or take a nap or meet a friend for coffee. It may be space...to write or think or meditate. It may be intimacy...with a friend or relative or spouse.

These things don’t just happen. You have to declare them important and make them happen.

Decide what you’re willing to say no to in order to meet your NEEDS.

You deserve it.
